My son absolutely loves Tots on the Rock. We moved to the Island just before his fourth birthday and I was initially concerned at how he would settle in to a new home and day care, as this was his first move. On his first day, my son told the ladies that he liked making volcanoes at his old day care – so they made a volcano. The staff all make an effort to cater the activities and learning topics to the children’s interests. He quickly settled into the centre and is excited to get to tots every morning. I cannot fault anything at Tots. Danielle and Hayley have created a nurturing, fun, and professional centre and they go the extra mile in everything they do for the children.
I just wanted to say, I cannot thank the team at Tots enough. Max has been at Tots for almost 4 years, and he absolutely adores it.
He has always treasured his place at TOTS; he continues to thrive with all your dedicated team and the opportunities especially with the Learning Group that has been implemented now for the 4 year-olds.
The Under 2's has always been a special place for the little ones with great staff ratios and lots of love and nurturing, but when they get the chance to go over to the 'big side' then it's so lovely to see them grow and shine.
The Learning Group once they turn 4 is another step up and something all the kids can't wait to start in. The great excursions the kids get a chance to participate in, and the dedicated learning in the Group session times is fantastic.
As a parent who made the decision to start my child early into day care, I can honestly say that the support I have received as a Mum from the Tots team has been second to none. The Facebook updates during the day with what the kids get up to is not only great to see, but Max and I use this as a way we can tie our days up together also. While I can't be there, he gets to tell me all about it with the pictures and the stories when we get home.
Thank you again from the both of us!
My daughter came to Tots on the Rock as a 4yr old from another child care centre, she never looked back. The staff promoted confidence, independence and a general sense of well being in the children all through laughter and play. My son started when he was 3 months old and is now nearly 4, he has been loved and nurtured just as well as he would at home.
He's looking forward to being in the learners group (over 4's) and although he can be challenging at times the staff have been there every step of the way, encouraging him and us with their expertise. I have no doubt the staff at Tots will lead him into his next phase of learning with love, compassion and excitement!
I have watched my adventurous 2 year-old grow into an curious and compassionate 4 year-old under the watchful care of the fantastic staff here. I am very happy we chose Tots on the Rock, my boy absolutely loves arriving each day and catches me up every afternoon for at least an hour about what he’s built, learnt or discovered that day.
Thanks Team Tots, the programme you run and the learning you provide is second to none.
Our son Blake, has been part of the Tots whānau for just over 3 years and he absolutely loves "school" (which is what he calls it).
He started in the Under 2s area and the staff supported with the transition of Mum returning to work with relative ease. It was great getting the reports on what he had been doing for the day. The transition into the Over 2s was handled really well and he hasn't looked back since.
These days sharing in his day's adventures can be found real time on the facebook page and I love that we can ask him specifically about things he has done when we arrive. I love the fact that we are kept fully informed in a number of different ways; in person at the start and end of each day, by phone if required, on the Educare portal, facebook and then at the different events ie; whanau breakfasts, celebrations and Xmas.
The thing we love the most is that they fully embrace what is happening in the world and on the island. The resources, books and experiences he has are absolutely amazing and we wouldn't be anywhere else. When he is at Tots there are so many cool things to do and play with and it's such a bright and lively place for him to be.
We love that he spends quite a bit of time out of Tots too on regular excursions to visit the library, butterflies and nature at the local park, plays football at the local school and then there are further learning opportunities where he gets to take the ferry to Auckland for bigger activities such as the Maritime Museum, Auckland Museum, The Zoo etc.
All in all we are absolutely rapt with Tots on the Rock and know that it will be sad when we have to say our goodbyes when he goes off to "Big School".
My son Hunter has been a 'pupil' of Tots On The Rock role since he was 12mths old. It has been a great experience for both of us and Tots has given
him the sense of having a family environment throughout his time there which has also eased my mind immensely.
He is now 4 and a half years old and when I meet others whose children are the same age, they constantly remark on his great ability to communicate verbally and his strong knowledge of numbers and ideas. I like how he can reason through sharing his opinion with me and I know that 'deals' are taught to the children in Tots as another method to support them to communicate.
I have enjoyed watching Hunter develop and be nurtured with both his learning and relationship building. We will both miss Tots next year when he enrols in school, it will be a sad goodbye.

Our son is a full time Tot and we are impressed with the love and service of all the staff at Tots that he's provided. We are so impressed with how much and quickly he is learning. The Facebook page is amazing and we love looking at what our son's doing on a daily basis. Many thanks
